UAF GPA Calculator

For students of the University of Agriculture, Faisalabad and its sub-campuses. UAF's own prospectus sets a short 4.0 scale: A is 4 points for 80 to 100%, B is 3, C is 2, D is 1 and F is 0, with no plus or minus grades at all. Enter each course's credit hours and grade below.

UAF grade points and mark bands

GradeValueMarksRemarks
A480 – 100%Excellent
B365 – 79%Good
C250 – 64%Satisfactory
D140 – 49%Pass
F0Below 40%Fail

Five grades, no plus or minus. That makes UAF's scale coarser than most: 80% and 100% are both an A, and the eleven-point ladder used by HEC and by most Pakistani universities does not apply here.

Why the HEC table does not fit a UAF transcript

HEC's recommended table starts an A at 85% and runs A, A−, B+, B, B−, C+, C, C−, D+, D, F. UAF starts an A at 80% and has five grades. A UAF student with 82% holds an A; read against the HEC bands the same 82% would be an A−. If a form asks for a grade, give the one printed on your UAF transcript.

The GPA formula

GPA = Σ(grade points × credit hours) ÷ Σ(credit hours)

The prospectus adds an important detail: the grade point is worked out from the percentage of marks a student obtains in each course separately, following the conversion table, and not from the percentage of total marks across courses.

Worked example

CourseCredit hoursGradePointsCredit hours × points
Agronomy3A412
Soil Science3B39
Statistics2B36
Horticulture2C24

Total credit hours = 10, total points = 31, so GPA = 31 ÷ 10 = 3.10.

Passing, standing and repeats

  • A course needs at least 40% in theory and 40% in practical separately.
  • The maximum GPA is 4.00 and the minimum GPA for obtaining a degree is 2.50, which is higher than the 2.00 many Pakistani universities set.
  • A CGPA below 1.50 at the end of an academic year means being declared ceased from the University rolls.
  • A D grade may be repeated once within the prescribed credit-hour limit; an improved grade substitutes the earlier F or D.
  • An I grade that is not cleared in the available time is replaced by F automatically.

Attendance

A candidate with less than 75% attendance in theory and in practical of each course, counted separately, is not allowed to take that course's final examination. The attendance calculator works out how many classes that leaves.

Why no percentage is shown

The prospectus sets the marks behind each grade but publishes no formula for turning a CGPA back into a percentage, so this page shows none. If a form needs one, ask the Controller of Examinations rather than converting the figure yourself.

Grade points and rules follow the University of Agriculture, Faisalabad Undergraduate Programs Prospectus 2025-26, read on 21 September 2026. Rules change between sessions; confirm with the Controller of Examinations before relying on a figure.

Frequently asked questions

What are the UAF grade points?

From the prospectus: A is 4 points for 80 to 100% marks, B is 3 for 65 to 79%, C is 2 for 50 to 64%, D is 1 for 40 to 49%, and F is 0 below 40%. W is used for a withdrawal and I for an incomplete. There are no plus or minus grades.

Is the UAF scale the same as the HEC table?

No, and the difference matters. UAF awards an A from 80% upward, while HEC’s recommended table starts an A at 85% and uses eleven bands with plus and minus grades. Reading a UAF transcript against the HEC table will give the wrong grade. Use the UAF bands for a UAF result.

What GPA do I need for my degree at UAF?

The prospectus gives a maximum GPA of 4.00 and a minimum GPA of 2.50 for obtaining a degree. Separately, a student must keep a CGPA of at least 1.50 through the study period at the end of each academic year, or be declared ceased from the University rolls.

How does UAF decide whether I passed a course?

A student must obtain at least 40% marks in theory and in practical separately to complete a course. A fraction of 0.5 or more is rounded up to 1.00 in theory and practical separately where the teacher requires it.

Can I repeat a D grade at UAF?

The prospectus allows a student to repeat, once, those courses in which the lowest grade D was secured, within the prescribed credit-hour limit. An improved grade substitutes the earlier F or D. After the scheme of studies and residential requirements are complete, a student is no longer eligible to enroll D-grade courses for CGPA improvement.
