How COMSATS calculates merit

Merit = (Matric % Ɨ 0.10) + (HSSC % Ɨ 0.40) + (NTS score Ć· 100 Ɨ 50)

These weights are read from the COMSATS Fall 2026 merit calculator on its admissions portal, checked on 20 September 2026. The calculator's own code comments still mention older weights (30, 30 and 40); the figures it actually computes are 10, 40 and 50, and those are what this page uses.

Notes from the COMSATS calculator

  • Candidates awaiting their HSSC result submit first-year marks.
  • For candidates awaiting A-Level results, the calculator says O-Level equivalence marks will be considered.
  • Architecture and Art & Design programmes have an interview and a different formula.

How to use this calculator

  1. Enter your Matric percentage.
  2. Enter your HSSC percentage, or first-year percentage if HSSC is awaited.
  3. Enter your NTS score with 100 as the total.
  4. Read your merit and compare it with the latest COMSATS merit list for your programme.

Weights follow the COMSATS Fall 2026 merit calculator, read on 20 September 2026. Admission rules can change between intakes, so check the current COMSATS advertisement before relying on a figure.

Frequently asked questions

What is the COMSATS merit formula?

The Fall 2026 merit calculator on the COMSATS admissions portal computes SSC (Matric) marks x 10% + HSSC marks x 40% + the NTS score divided by 2, which is 50% of a score out of 100. For example, Matric 81.82%, HSSC 80% and NTS 70 give 8.18 + 32 + 35 = 75.18%.

My HSSC result is not out yet. What do I enter?

The COMSATS calculator says candidates awaiting their HSSC result submit their first-year marks. Enter your first-year percentage in the FSc field.

Does the same formula apply to every COMSATS programme?

No. The calculator notes that programmes under the Architecture and Art & Design departments have an interview and use a different formula. Check the advertisement for your programme.

What merit do I need for COMSATS?

Closing merits differ by campus, programme and year. COMSATS publishes merit lists on its admissions portal; compare your merit with the latest list for your programme. We do not show estimated cut-offs because we could not check them against official lists.
