Conversion formula

Standard HEC formula: percentage = (CGPA / 4.0) × 100.

How it differs from standard HEC

Engineering, EE and CS departments use relative grading (curve set per cohort), so the same raw 75% can earn a B in one semester and an A in another. CS A-grade cut-offs typically cluster around 80–85%.

Reference data only. Always confirm with your university registrar before quoting a CGPA, percentage, or merit number on a job application or visa form.

FSc subject groups

FSc Pre-Medical typically covers Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Urdu, English, Pakistan Studies (part 1), and Islamiyat (part 1). FSc Pre-Engineering replaces Biology with Math. ICS covers Computer Science with Math and either Physics or Statistics. The FSc grade calculator at allgradecalculator.com works for any combination — edit the subject names and maximums to match your mark sheet.

How to use it

  1. Pick your BISE board.
  2. Update the subject names if needed.
  3. Enter your marks and the maximum per subject (default 100).
  4. Read the total, percentage, and BISE grade.
  5. Use the result in the HEC aggregate calculator if applying to a Pakistani university.

FSc percentage targets

  • 80%+ (A1) — needed for top medical colleges via MDCAT.
  • 70–79% (A) — sufficient for most public-sector engineering universities via ECAT.
  • 60–69% (B) — eligible for many BS programs at federal and provincial universities.
  • Below 60% — focus on improvement exams or strong performance in entrance tests.

What FSc grade tells you

Your FSc result drives admission to every public-sector university in Pakistan. The HEC aggregate weights FSc the highest of the three components for engineering programs. Even a 1% improvement in FSc percentage usually moves you above hundreds of competitors on the merit list.

Frequently asked questions

Is the FSc grading scale the same as Matric?

Yes — BISE boards use a single scale: A1, A, B, C, D, E, F. Boundaries are at 80, 70, 60, 50, 40, 33.

How are part-1 and part-2 combined?

Each subject usually has equal marks split across the two parts. Add part-1 and part-2 marks before entering them in the calculator.

What does "supplementary" mean?

A supplementary exam lets you re-take a failed subject. The FSc result-card shows the better of the two attempts; use that score in the calculator.
