The simplest grading formula
Almost every gradebook in the world reduces to the same single formula: percentage = points earned ÷ total points × 100. The assignment grade calculator at allgradecalculator.com is the fastest way to apply it — no spreadsheet required.
Examples
- 17 / 20 → 85% → B
- 92 / 100 → 92% → A−
- 34 / 50 → 68% → D+
- 45 / 50 → 90% → A−
What the weight option is for
Most courses break the overall grade into categories with different weights — homework 20%, midterm 30%, final 40%, etc. A single assignment's contribution to the overall grade is its percentage multiplied by its weight. For example, an 85% on a homework category worth 20% contributes 17 percentage points to the overall grade. The optional weight field shows this calculation directly.
